We’re looking for a bright, dedicated person to join our Service Delivery team as a Damage Controller. The ideal candidate will possess good written and verbal communication skills, and be able to balance administrative tasks and stakeholder requirements.

Based in Saltaire

£21,000 – £23,000 per annum, Full-Time

Overview

The Damage Controller will provide an excellent standard of service to our customers, and support to our Senior Supply Chain Coordinator. Communication is by telephone and email, and therefore excellent communication skills are essential to the role. The ideal candidate is bright and dedicated, with a willingness to learn and grow within the team. On-the-job training will be given. This role will not involve physically assessing vehicles, but the effective management and administration of vehicle rental damage. You will be liaising with our customers and suppliers with a view to resolve any disputes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Controlling damage, and PCN/NIP charges
  • Recording, maintaining and updating existing claims, with a view to resolve
  • Dealing with and resolving any queries to secure payment
  • Handling various aspects of the credit control function to ensure timely payments from customers and ensure suppliers are paid in accordance with their terms
  • Ensure a claim from a supplier is valid before recharging
  • Gathering all available evidence from suppliers and preparing a full recharge pack for the customer

Skills and Experience

  • Good knowledge of motor vehicles and experience of the daily rental sector
  • A positive attitude and an ability to work well in a team and as an self-organised individual
  • Good clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Numerate with good attention to detail
  • Reliable and flexible with the ability to adjust to the needs of the business
  • Good basic administration skills
  • A positive attitude and great team player
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Programme, (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • A lnowledge of the BVRLA approved fair wear and tear guidelines is advantageous

Hours of Work

You will be required to work a total of 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday between the core working hours of 8.30am to 6.00pm, on a rotated basis with an unpaid lunch break of 60 minutes.
